Long-Term Running Goals:

Run happy and healthy all the days of my life. Be an example and inspiration to my family.

 

Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!! 

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Lots of errands.  Got to get more sleep.  How many days before Christmas? Yikes!!!

I try to take one day at a time...but sometimes several days attack me at once!!!

Four hours is not enough sleep. I usually get 6 hours every night and then I still need a nap in the afternoon. Great job with the run.

Rhett ~ in Utah anything above 30's with rain or slow IS warm! We've been lucky that the storms have been producing snow in the mountains and rain in the valley the last few days! :)

This week was crazy busy. I miss checking on everyone's blog too. You my dear, have had a banner week, 81 miles! WOW! Seriously, very impressive! Hope you are enjoying this Christmas holidays with the fam.

Nancy ~ I could use 8 hours sleep; but lucky if I get 6. Lately sleep is hard to come by.

She loves the house, so it was worth the 6 hours it took us to put the darn thing together!

I never went out for a run, although it looked so nice in the afternoon. We went to my MIL's for brunch and 3 of us came home feeling very sick (I was one of them). I ended up sick all afternoon and night, we were poisoned!

Fill me in on those Saturday runs and I will be there!
