Run happy and healthy all the days of my life. Be an example and inspiration to my family.

Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!!

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Did the tempo run program on the TM.  It's been awhile since I was able to run outside.  I look longingly and enviously when we drive out in the morning and home in the evening and see runners on the road.  Weather is perfect for running now in the winter here!

One Saturday morning I took these pix on my last and 2nd ever outside run.  The road is rolling hilly around my neck of the wood.

With blind curves

and narrow shoulder.  This runner was running facing traffic and no sidewalk.  On weekdays there'd be cars parked alongside.

I was running on the opposite of the road on this sidewalk.

This is where I run, the darkest room in the house, and for only 30 min. 3-4 times a week!

That looks like a beautiful place to run.

I loved to see a picture of you running. I know it makes you happy.

It is beautiful there. I'm glad you can still run on the treadmill. I hate treadmills.

From RAD on Tue, Aug 20, 2013 at 03:07:37 from 76.27.82.202

Sure is good to hear about you and Larry every so often. Keep up the good work and remember: Be as smart as you can, but remember that it is always better to be wise than to be smart.

It does look beautiful there, thanks for sharing the pictures, even of your TM room and yes the contrast between the two (Treadmill vs. outside) is obvious...but keep on keepin' on! Someday you'll run outside every single day you want!

hi Smooth!!

From Bec on Wed, Oct 02, 2013 at 09:08:17 from 70.115.197.197

I went on a long run a few weeks ago with RAD and we were talking about you. We just missed you. I told her to relax and think of Smooth. :)

Looks really pretty and green there! Your little TM room doesn't look all that bad. Do you get to run to mo-tab tunes while you work out??? Hope you are doing great!

From Smooth on Fri, Oct 04, 2013 at 06:19:35 from 121.44.5.17

Thanks everyone for "dropping by" to say hi!!!

I appreciate you so much! :)

I would be lying if I said I don't miss running! But most of all, I miss YOU!!! I do check on your blogs from time to time!

Thank you for your love and friendship! :) Good luck to those of you running SGM this weekend!

Becca ~ yes, my little TM room has built in speakers in the ceiling as in many parts of the house, so I do run with MoTab tunes! In fact, it is loud enough to wake up the neighbor's dog! :)

From Bec on Fri, Oct 04, 2013 at 12:34:17 from 70.115.197.197

Keep on running with those sweet tunes. Looks like you have a white board you can write out your workouts too. hee hee. That is what I would do! Keeps the mind from wondering off.

Smooth- love the photos, love the update. I know your regular running buddies miss you bunches. I kept the Ensign with you & President Lew's names & assignments posted in it. You're demi-celebrity status in my book :-)

Enjoy all that your new world has to offer, even that boring room with a TM and bike. Does President Lew ever ride next to you when you run?
