Personal:

I'm 64, retired RN, happily married, nana to 14 beautiful grandchildren, mother to 6 children (1 daughter, 5 sons) who are kind, hardworking, caring, wonderful people! Wish they live closer!!!  :)  :)  :)

Picked up running in 2005 at age 50, to stay healthy so I can take care of my husband who had endocarditis resulting in AVR and MVR in 2004, end stage renal failure in 2014, kidney transplant on Dec 30, 2015.  Six months after the kidney transplant, we discovered that he has a rare auto-immune disease that was probably triggered in 2004 with then the undiagnosed infective endocarditis.  The doctors had to make up a name for this rare disease, Monoclono Gammopathy with Renal Significance (MGRS).  It is not curable.  After desperately trying different chemotherapies, the doctor finally found one immuno-therapy, Daratumamab, that works to treat the MGRS.  It is a miracle!!! 

Grateful for the gift of life, blessings, dear friends and loved ones!!! Thankful for the ability to move, walk, jog, and yes run!!!!

Another 6 maintenance miles today.  Wore l/s, jacket, gloves and tights. T- 32, no wind.  Had a yogurt and water before heading out.

Not only could I see my breathe this morning, I could hear it, wheezing my way up that hill before mile 3.  Don't want to use inhaler yet, my lungs will adjust.  Not sure why my sitting bone hurts, could be from yesterday's workout.  I'm sure that too will pass.  Arthritis: 3

Very nice job. I am looking to our run tomorrow morning. Got to love no wind. I can't wait till you can see your breath and have steam coming off you. LOL

It looks like you got faster as the run went on way to go! I have been running on the treadmill to avoid the cold but will run outside tomorrow morning I hope it is not too cold! I would rather have the cold though, I melt in the heat.

I am SO EXCITED. I hope I can sleep tonight. It's like the night before a race. I know it's NOT a race. Just the anticipation of going to some unknown route running with great friends...sleeping in a hotel room...waiting for the wake-up call...the whole experience...you know what I mean.

Last winter when I ran in T. below 30, there was frost built up on my shoulders. Literally COLD shoulders. Hot steam would be nice. :)

It's so gorgeous outside! You've got to get out there. Just dress in layers. Remember Boston's weather is notorious, never know if you get a heat wave or a noreaster. We gotta train in all kinds. I've never trained in Monsoon rain like we got at SGM this year though. I prefer cold over heat. Heat destroys me.

Nice run Smooth! I love the maintenance miles, nice and relaxing. You can keep your 32 degrees though, I will enjoy my 50s for next few weeks.
