I'm still alive.  No cross training whatsoever, but foot is definitely improving.  I still favor the inside of my foot while walking, but no longer limp.  Never once wore the stupid boot.  Feels like maybe 2 weeks away from a short test run, at least.

Lots of life changes in the works, but this is a running blog, dammit.  I feel happy and hopeful though.  2016 started out like a big fat pile of crap, but I still think it could be a great year.

Hang in there man. In the grand scheme of things it is but a small blip in your running career.

i've used this blog for non-running 'life & stuff' essays several times. it's all connected.

i'm glad your foot is improving and i hope the healing continues along swiftly. it can definitely still be a great year. i completely erased jan/feb 2015 from my memory and that elevated my year from a 2 to a 7. :)

Since DH and Allie took the best lines I will just say... I look forward to seeing you make your boot look like the shoes in your profile pic.

Glad you have some progress!

I was in fact JUST thinking, "Is Joe still alive?" My blog time has been far too short the last few weeks even though I've trimmed my social media time significantly.

My blog is my diary both running and otherwise. Mostly uncensored aside from the keeping with family friendly language, which I abide by even if it's sometimes a little painful. But the internet really is forever. Unless the zombie occurs and the grid goes down maybe or Trump becomes president.

Nice to see you in good spirits.

Don't forget that you get an extra day in February. Plenty of time to make 2016 EPIC!

From SlowJoe on Sun, Jan 31, 2016 at 07:42:41 from 107.77.105.77

Thanks all. A few hours after I wrote this I actually did get out on a road bike my dad brought to me last week. It wasn't a bad workout with the hills around here. I'll do it again today.

On the personal side, some of it is a bit much for the internet, but I don't mind sharing most of it with y'all & my FRB friends through PM/email. I've tiptoed around my problems here and there on the blog, but like Jason said...way too permanent (can't count on zombies, apocalypse, Trump, etc).

But I do feel like I'm turning a corner, both with the foot, and my own insanity!

I am glad you're not dead.

Hang in there. Life is hard. It will get better. And you will run again.:). Lemme know if you need anything!! Once this colicky baby of mine settles down and spring stroller season is here I might run again too! I'm stuck looking out the window and stalking blogs right now.

Hope you're doing as well as you can. Definitely miss the Comedic stylings of Fast Joe.

Hang in there. Enjoy the rest the best you can.
