Hot and humid again so I took my business to the treadmills at work again.  Workout was 3 x 1.5 mi @ HMP.  I did them @ 9.3, 9.4, and 9.5 mph, with the last half mile of the last repeat between 10 and 11 mph.  In between the repeats was .25 @ 7 mph.  Effort felt about right; of course it's like running with a 9-10 mph tailwind since it's on the TM but I got the turnover I wanted.  Hopefully summer will be over after this weekend and that'll be the last TM workout (I keep saying that...)

I always increase the angle 1-2 degrees to make it feel more like running on the road. I haven't felt the tailwind with that. :-)

I was really hoping for some cool weather this weekend to run my long run!

This is one of the best uses of the TM. I did a 5 mile tempo @ LT pace in August and I could adjust things to get my breathing right. You can really listen to your effort.

3 x 10ish minutes is a great way to figure out where you are at. In 6 weeks you'll be running a lot farther at that same pace.

Smart increases in mileage too.

Also, you've dropped about 7 lbs. I'm very jealous!

IJR - yeah I thought about changing the incline but decided I wanted the wheels to get some practice spinning faster instead.

Jason - definitely going to be using the TM more next summer, as opposed to just laying around getting fat. I'm hoping today's weigh-in wasn't a fluke; if not, I've only got 5 lbs to go...
