AM:  75F, 95%.  5 @ 8:05 AP.  Took the mutt along - he hasn't gone on a run in awhile and was dragging behind at the end.  That's probably it for today - race tomorrow!  Taking the kids to sea world / aquatica later today.

Here's what the creek looks like most of the time (dry):

So use your imagination - close your eyes and picture the brown rainwater flowing gently under the bridge.  Listen to the sound of the trash and litter clinking gently against the concrete pillars as it flows along...heaven.

Here's another incredible sidewalk pic for Allie:

2 words:  RAVE RUN.

On the other side of that construction, I managed to capture a picture of what your run-of-the-mill, average chainsaw looks like in Texas:

You actually can't pass 5th grade here until you learn how to use it.

i took a texas chainsaw class online my freshman year of college, mostly for my resume.

thank you for the sidewalk pic. you captured a great view, and it's the perfect color. i bet the cement swatch they chose was called "sidewalk". i love how a few blades of grass are just creeping in there at the edges, kind of like a model who deliberatately keeps his hair just a bit unkempt. you are blessed to have that dirt patch for soft surface running.

oh, good luck at your race tomorrow.

So glad I could share the beauty of south Texas with everyone...clearly you appreciate the subtle details as I do. Good luck to you at Peachtree as well.

Hahaha. This entire post just about killed me. I'm glad your bridge had water under it. Def a pleasantry in Texas, garbage and all.

What race? Good luck. Should be nice and humid. :) At least it hasn't been hot.

Stunning photos this week. Inspiring!

Meanwhile in Ohio we have had nonstop rain - rivers are overflowing. Hey... have a great race!

You win the week. The chainsaw sealed it.

I would suggest we get Jason to do this next week, but I'm afraid he'll get murdered if he takes a photo of the wrong person in Philly.

Rave Run? Oontz Oontz Oontz!

Yeah, what a week! Illegal wading, exfoliating mud creek, bambi tackling...You finished strong, Joe!

The area I live in isn't really philly. Well, it is but it's the second richest zip code and you cross the street and you are out of the city. We live in the working class section of the neighborhood though. I'll take some photos in front of the 7 bedroom and 10 bathroom houses I run by (not kidding) on the other side.

I like the photos and the idea of sharing "this is where I run." Good stuff. I've been following but slow to comment.

Run hard tomorrow, racers, our freedom depends on it!

From SlowJoe on Sat, Jul 04, 2015 at 09:19:57 from 45.18.50.53

Thanks all - I agree, I would like to see some "this is where I run" pictures too! Forbidden drive, Ringling bridge, active oval, etc etc.

It's kind of a pain though, you gotta put your phone in a Ziploc...or else.

From Jake K on Sat, Jul 04, 2015 at 14:54:19 from 98.202.128.218

I have the armband thingy now :-0

But I still usually put the phone in a plastic bag too. I imagine that is more important in a humid climate.
