AM:  75F, 89%.  10 @ 8:03 AP.  Legs are feeling tired and mushy lately but I'm still doing a workout tomorrow - I think the ol' girls have been in this state before, where they feel cruddy but will still respond.  Usually comes after lots of consistent mileage.  Might do it on the TM though...will probably decide after I see the dew point in the morning.

PM:  81F, 75%, raining.  4 @ 8:20 AP.  All my workout places will probably be underwater tomorrow morning, so it's looking like a TM workout.  I'm thinking 1200s at 10k pace, +/- depending on leg mushiness.

Good observation. I think if you do it just right, working out on mushy legs can boost you up a rung or two on the fitness ladder in fairly short order. At least it happened to me early this year -- all of a sudden I could do a lot more and still recover quickly. Danger is over-training, but at your experience level you know the difference. Stay dry tomorrow.

Ah, yeah I guess TS Bill will probably impact the TM decision too. Time to steel the mind for 100+ minutes of stationary running...

Every time I think, "man, this is miserable." I have to also think, "people run in this every day further south." The dew point has been 71-73 the last few days.

You definitely need to change expectations for summer. Working into workouts is definitely the way to go. It sort of feels like cheating, but the effort changes quickly and the punishment for pride is swift and merciless. The treadmill isn't a bad idea. I always think, "better a shorter workout (or just a workout) than no workout."

Jason - yeah the tough part about running down here isn't necessarily that it's that much hotter. Everyone has a warm summer....ours is a little hotter, sure, but it's the length of time it lasts that hurts. There's a ~6 month span from late April to early October where you just know you're not getting any good workout weather.

Of course the payoff is that every single day in winter is runnable.
