65F, N 12 mph.  Felt crappy today.  7:55/mile avg, although I'm surprised it was that fast.  I guess I'm not doing my immune system any favors by running a lot but it's just a cold - it'll go away eventually.

Both my wife and son have a cold too! Seems a lot of people down here are sick right now. Hope you feel better soon!

Hey Joe,

Maybe we should sign up for St George for next year...It sure seems like a fun race!

From SlowJoe on Fri, Sep 30, 2011 at 11:16:45 from 132.3.53.68

Thanks, and good idea - especially because we can wait and see how everyone does first!

Sub 8 miles feeling crappy, gotta love it! Nice run, stay healthy! If you guys have you BQ times at a winter or Spring race, I would highly recommend the St. George experience to go for a fall PR & great time to get you into Boston 2014, but it is probably too late to get you into 2013. Also, you have to plan on a few days to explore southwestern Utah, it is beautiful country, the marathon is just a good excuse to go there!

If we BQ this fall or winter we could run Boston in 2013...right? And St George sign up (lottery) isn't until April...I think?

From JG on Fri, Sep 30, 2011 at 13:35:26 from 71.59.27.33

That is correct, St. George has open registration for the entire month of April (does not matter what order you register in, and then after registration closes, they do the lottery, I think first weekend in May. So you will know whether you have a solid BQ time or not ... or if you need to shoot for something like Top of Utah for your BQ. Just find a good race early in 2012 to lock in your BQ! I know Joe will take care of it in Houston!

I concur that Saint George is gorgeous and I can't wait to run the course! I am still on tail end of a cold. It's only lasted two weeks...

Sorry you have a cold...it seems to be going around. 3 of my kids have one right now.

Run St. George next year all of you. Hopefully we will all get in and have a FRB party of eating the night before!

From Rye on Sat, Oct 01, 2011 at 11:45:15 from 174.27.117.251

Joe... with your cold, take the usual vitamin C and sleep and all that garb and your cold will last about a week and a half. Trying to run and go about your daily activities it will last about 10 days or so......
