52F, 7:49 AP.  What should I do for my last workout on Thursday?  I was going to do 8-9 @ MP, but I accidentally just did that on Sunday.  Does it make sense to do it again, or should I run some LT, since I haven't hit that pace in weeks?  Maybe a combo?

I'd stick w/ MP for the most part - maybe finish a little quicker. You could do 2x4-5, 4-3-2-1...

From allie on Tue, Apr 08, 2014 at 09:17:22 from 161.38.221.168

100 x 100m @ 100m pace

From allie on Tue, Apr 08, 2014 at 09:22:31 from 161.38.221.168

really though, i like the 4-3-2-1. i've never actually done it, but i like the idea. seems like a great tune-up workout.

From Jake K on Tue, Apr 08, 2014 at 09:24:16 from 199.190.170.30

You'll need about 30 minutes rest b/w reps if you do allie's 100m workout, so it might take you a few days.

I did a Bam Buster wave tempo last year. First humid day at 70 degrees. I cursed Bam throughout the workout and missed the last k because I was dying.

12k: alternating kilometers (HMP/MP) but what that actually does is give you almost 7.5 miles at faster than goal pace (the hard way), so maybe something like a split tempo like Jake recommends, capped off Allie's "strides" workout.

I've toyed with the idea of a 4-5 mile AT tempo, short recovery, then 2 miles @ LT.

Is Thursday 10 days out or is Friday? 10 full recovery days? I never know how to count them.

From SlowJoe on Tue, Apr 08, 2014 at 09:47:13 from 168.215.171.129

Thanks for the ideas. I like the idea of finishing a little faster; maybe the 4-3-2-1 with the last one @ LT if I'm still alive after the 100 x 100m.

Jason, Thursday is 11 days out but Friday forecast looks a little warm in San Antonio, so I'm moving it up a day to minimize the pain and not crush my fragile self-confidence.

Can someone explain? "You could do 2x4-5, 4-3-2-1..."

Looking for last hard workout on Thursday as well, was going to run LT - but open to suggestions. Just did a 10 mile MGP today.

From Jake K on Tue, Apr 08, 2014 at 10:13:49 from 199.190.170.30

2 x 4-5 mile at marathon pace with an easy half-mile to mile in between...

or

4 miles at MP (0.5 mi jog), 3 miles at MP, etc etc.

Running blog shorthand :-)

I felt like I was reading some other language on all of the blog entries until I got the the last one but Jake K. Thanks Jake for putting it in simple terms for my simple mind!

Joe and David, are you interested in meeting up on Sunday morning with hopefully some of the other guys at Boston? See my Tuesday blog entry for what I was thinking about...or we could do something else if others have a better idea.

From SlowJoe on Tue, Apr 08, 2014 at 14:02:17 from 168.215.171.129

DH - LT seems like a sensible choice to me; maybe even as a wave combination with MP. In fact, I might do something like that. Maybe 4 x 2 miles with the last half mile of each repeat @ LT. Hmmm. I'll probably change my mind half a dozen times from now til Thursday.

IJR - Definitely want to meet up. That's a good idea, though I need a Catholic mass that morning. I'm picking up my bib on Sunday sometime though. I'll email y'all later. We should also come up with an FRB hangout spot in Hopkinton for Monday morning.

We'll be at the 9:00 am service.

Sorry, I don't know what to tell you about Thursday, except Allie's idea looks good, but take a Gu every 25m,... and wear a camelbak.
