38F.  8 @ 7:04 AP.  Included 3 @ MP.  I didn't write them down but they were faster than I need to go (I think the 3rd one was 6:20) and felt really good.  Got a spring in my step and the weather is looking a bit cooler too -- low 50s for most of it, with a moderate wind.

Decided to go with a 1-week taper this time instead of the usual 10-14 days.  When your build up is only 2.5 weeks, a long taper is kinda dumb.  I have a good feeling about this race.

Ride the momentum!

I love the philosophy. I still think that slow 20 the other day is what's going to do it for you!

Matt - I agree! I was really missing the time-on-feet run but I think 4.5 hours checked that box nicely.

The road run will feel smooth and fast after that long slow slog. I have a good feeling about your race too!!

There might just be some magic in that mud.

I'm excited for you too!

As someone who has used the A series Saucony flats, what do you think of the 6s? I just noticed you got a pair.

From SlowJoe on Sat, Jan 17, 2015 at 06:31:02 from 107.77.80.90

Jason, they feel fast, and not really any different from the A5...which is what I was hoping for! Still think they're ther best series of shoe I've used.
