Hot and humid his morning so I went to the treadmills at work for my mid-week workout.  I did 4 x 0.75 with .25 recoveries.  Speeds were 9.8, 9.9, 10.0, and 10.1.  After the last quarter mile recovery, I did half a mile @ 10.6.  I was trying to get some 5k turnover for this workout and probably could not have done it outside today.  I have a real, actual, no kidding race on Saturday - a free 5k at work!  We'll see what happens...

I predict you win 1st in the race!

We'll see - there are 16,000 employees from my company in San Antonio so I predict some competition!

From Jason D on Tue, Oct 29, 2013 at 10:17:30 from 128.210.82.162

I was going to say, DESTROY THEM ALL. 16,000! Still, I say, DESTROY THEM ALL.

From SlowJoe on Tue, Oct 29, 2013 at 11:04:21 from 168.215.171.129

I'm pretty sure only a small percentage of them will be racing, but there's gotta be some good runners with a population that large.

You almost HAVE to win this thing. What better way to endear yourself to your new-ish co-workers than to crush them in athletic competition? I hope you win so big that everyone else will be forced to claim that they were “just running it for fun,” and that they weren’t “really trying,” out of embarrassment. I hope that, after this, when you get introduced to new employees, that the introduction will HAVE to include a comment about how you are the fastest man in the company. I hope that for the duration of your employment there, other employees will be forced to uncomfortably talk to you about running, because you are singularly identified as “that” guy that DESTROYED everyone in the company 5k.

GOOD LUCK, JOE!

Tom - you're right, I think I'll sprint out to a lead and when someone tries to pass, just trip them. That way I'll really show I have the winning mentality. I figure I'll fit right in after that.

yeah. you must win this!
