55F, 6:56 AP.  On the agenda was 7 x (3 min on / 1 min off) with the "on" portion @ 10k pace.  So I did 7 x 800m with 200m easy between reps.  Averaged 2:58.6.  I had a very tight range with no rep varying more than 1 sec from the average.  Good, tough workout; it feels like there is no rest as that 200m goes by really quick!  I'm guessing that pace is faster than I could actually run a 10k right now, but the stimulus was great.  The last 2 reps took twice the effort to keep cranking out 90 sec laps.

Nice workout, especially with that short recovery!

Good workout, Joe. That short rest definitely makes it tough.

I would like to copy this someday. Although the 200m rest sounds difficult. LIKE, ALMOST TWICE AS DIFFICULT as 400m rest! (or is it half?) Somebody help me with the maths. Nice workout, Joe.

By the way, Are you still driving to the track?

That sounds fun! Wish I could run them with you sometime. :-) Nice job!

Thanks all; I did this workout in March before Boston and my avg was actually 2 seconds faster today, but last time was in the middle of a 100-mile week, and it was 8 repeats within a 15-miler. What the $&@! was I thinking?

Tom - definitely still driving to the track. The only way to get there is to run on Suicide Road (my name for it) and I'm to young to die.

Great job. I think that run you did in March in the middle of the big week was not insane, at least in a bad way. It is good to really put it out there every once in a while, run to failure or whatever the current mantra is, but making sure not to forget the recovery. Certainly did not hurt you at Boston.
