80F, 82%.  Hwell, I severely underestimated how slow I'd go in the heat.  They started the race at 8am, which meant a 9:30 finish and the heat index in the mid-80s.  My first 4 miles were sub-7 and that was it.  Last couple were in the 7:30-7:40 range.  I think I'm ready for summer to be over now.  Hopefully I got some benefit from the torture (other than my sweet pilsner glass for AG award).  Danielle and the kids came out and I think the kids had fun though.  They had lots of questions about why I didn't have a shirt on.

I'll see how next week goes...might start using the TM a lot more for workouts.  Just don't want a repeat of last summer and I can feel the heat-induced apathy trying to sneak in already.

Way to tough it out, Joe. Pilsner glass award is pretty slick, man.

Nice race in tough conditions!

Any race put on by an Italian chain has to be amazing. I can imagine not wanting to run in that weather. Nice job racing in it.

I made the mistake of running the Orange Leaf HALF Marathon a couple years ago and paid greatly for that decision. Hope you shut it down before any damage was done!

The heat is a killer. Solid job considering.

Way to sweat it out. That's about 8:30-9:00 pace kind of weather for easy runs for me. Good aerobic effort to add to your faster stuff.

That's pretty good for that kind of heat. Nice job. Nice bare chest.

This is poor man's altitude training in the truest form.

Luckily for you, there are only a few months of summer left. Days are getting shorter now!

Thanks all - at least this race was against grownups. Plus, all the chicken marsala you can eat (at 10am).
