69F, S 15-20 mph.  7:49 AP on some nice fresh legs, included a quarter-mile hard up the one significant hill along my route.

Time to share my obsessive research on race day weather for OKC.  Here's the scoop so far.  Pretty much every place I've looked agrees that this coming weekend there will be a hot morning followed by a cold morning.  They disagree on when the cold air will arrive.  4 out of 7 think it will come before the race, including my two most trusted sites, weather.com and wundergound, which put the low at 53 and 49.  Awesome.  The other 3 out of 7 say the cold air doesn't arrive until after the race, including 2 local TV stations that put the low at 58 and 62.  Weather.com thinks the low will be 67 the morning before the front (which right now they say will be the morning before the race - Saturday).  So if it stalls out, it could be a painful day.  Guess I'll just keep checking it 5 times a day until I see what I want.

Try not to worry about it too much. I know it is easier said then done, but you will stress yourself out checking the weather 10 times a day. These things change hourly. Probably by Thursday there will be a more reliable report available. I have found the local TV stations are more reliable.

WOW....Everything you wrote sounds great to me!!! You didn't mention anything about 70+ degree weather and 90 percent humidity. I think that's the breaking point for me :) Think positive...It's going to be fun and hopfully not in the sun...!

Checking the weather 10 times a day is the only thing keeping him sane right now. Let him check the weather, please! I, on the other hand, create injuries that I'm not sure are real or not. Funny blog post about taper madness someone sent me.

Ha....ha Slow Joe's Girl...that's hilarious. I'm in some sort of MADNESS too but you can't call it Taper Madness. Now that I'm somewhat recovered from my injury about 3 weeks ago and basiclly missed 20 days of training, I'm in a frantic frenzy to regroup, turbo-train and convince myself I can complete the race. So far I haven't done a very good job. I think I'm going crazy! My runs for the last five days have been 18,15,15,4,15 miles. The only reason one day was 4 is because I was traveling most of the day and just didn't have any more time to run. Anyone who reads this will think I'm completly insane...too...!

I am about falling out of my chair laughing at you two! Okay, so one person in the household with taper madness is bad enough but TWO! I can see it now...y'all sitting in the livingroom while Joe sits on the computer frantically checking his 7 weather websites and Danielle poking, prodding, stretching, and massaging all of her phantom injuries.

From SlowJoe'sGrl on Mon, Apr 25, 2011 at 20:07:22 from 184.79.24.255

IJR - Hmmm...that's not a taper, so maybe you are just truly mad. Might want to get that checked out. Just kidding.

Joe's been making fun of me because I will limp around on my leg when there is nothing wrong with it...seriously. It's subconcious, but I guess I'm just try to protect that foot.

From SlowJoe'sGrl on Mon, Apr 25, 2011 at 20:39:53 from 184.79.24.255

April - That's exactly how it is! You hit the nail on the head.

From SlowJoe on Mon, Apr 25, 2011 at 21:59:03 from 184.79.24.255

DH - 5 times a day, not 10. I said 5 so no one would think I was crazy. 10 would be crazy, if that's what I was doing! But I'm not. Ok fine, 10. I don't really stress about it, I would liken it more to keeping track of your favorite team's game online when it's not on TV. Gotta get the latest!

IJR - well, a low of 67 means it'll approach 80 by the time we're done...not that I've thought much about it.

Danielle - I said 5! Ah never mind.

April - the sad thing is watching the kids have to take care of themselves this week. Just kidding about that one (kinda).
