I guess the big news is that we're moving to San Antonio.  I'll start the new job a week from Monday, and the family will join me later in the summer when we've got a house to move into.  Didn't spend much time here in OK, but this job was never going to work out - they paid peanuts, literally.  A handful of peanuts - not honey-roasted, not even shelled or skinned peanuts.  Anyway, hopefully this is a more permanent move (although it's another defense contract...sigh).  Running-wise, looking forward to less wind, but not looking forward to more heat and humidity.  Hopefully summer isn't coming up, I'll have to check a calendar.

Finally jumping on that Spurs bandwagon in year 20 of the Duncan era, huh? Good timing, they'll be around another decade or so...

From SlowJoe on Wed, May 08, 2013 at 07:38:39 from 155.219.241.10

I may live there, but I'll never be a Spurs fan...

Congrats on the new job! A new running scene too!

Go Spurs Go ... !!!

You will be ASSIMILATED :-)

Glad you're moving to SA. Do you know where you are going to live? If you could live in New Braunfels and commute south to SA! It's a really nice area.

From SlowJoe on Wed, May 08, 2013 at 08:29:11 from 155.219.241.10

jtshad - thanks, the running scene is going to be sooo much better than here

IJR - Spurs...NEVER! We'll probably live somewhere in the NW (Northside maybe?), as I'll be working at Lackland. I'm not a fan of the long daily commute, although that is a nice quiet area, isn't it?

From I Just Run on Wed, May 08, 2013 at 08:43:35 from 67.79.11.242

Northwest is close to the AT&T Center...Where the Spurs Play so it's a great area! Actually I'm not that familiar with residential areas in SA. Like any large city they vary quite a bit.

Now, let me see... How does that saying go? Pay peanuts and you get monkeys:)

I love San Antonio! I have lots of family in that area, so when I visit them I will have to visit y'all!

IJR - yeah, definitely need to scout it out a bit.

Congrats on the new job and move! At least one of us is leaving the wind behind us. :) Sounds exciting for you and your family. Hope all works out well!

Congratulations on the new job! I hope your new job keeps up the peanuts along with the $$? I love peanuts.

You can always acclimate to heat/humidity. I am not a morning person (that is an understatement) and we ran in the middle of the day in Nashville sometimes. It wasn't fun, but it was doable. (here, not so much in the middle of the day, but I adapt).
