58F, SE 15-25 mph.  Last morning of our little cold snap, back to warm temps tomorrow.

AP 7:37 for this run.  For the workout I did 8 easy, followed by 4 fast miles.  Averaged about 8:01/mile for the first 8, then 6:51/mile for the last 4 (6:50, 6:51, 6:56, 6:47).  It was harder than I thought it should've been, but I didn't really set myself up for success as I left myself a quartering headwind for the last 2.5 or so (the wind direction on the computer led me to believe it would be crosswind).  I could tell it wasn't a direct crosswind because every time it died down for a second I felt like I got a kick in the pants and a burst of speed.  Anyway, my hope is that I will be able to repeat this run in August when it's 75 degrees; then I'll know I've improved over the summer.

Nice run - maybe you should make a sail to take advatage of that wind you always have.

Sorry about the wind, it was great down here. I bet by August you'll be better than that!

Great pace at the end of the run. I'm impressed that you can pull that off at the end of a number of strong consistent miles!

That is exactly the way to look at it, I think. Try to improve a little bit over the summer, or at least stay even, then pour it on when the cooler temps arrive.

I think you've improved a lot ever since I first read your blog.

You have improved incredibly since starting! I'm jealous! Your workouts are impressive and your races are showing results!

DH - I'd have to figure out a way to stow it on the headwind legs or I'd never get home.

IJR - guess it's all a trade-off, we are a few degrees cooler and not as humid

Tracy - thanks, it definitely adds a little difficulty starting a tempo at mile 9.

Flat - good, we're on the same page

Thanks Dale, keeping the severe injuries away (pure luck) has been the key for me

Thanks April, so have you! Glad your bump in the road is behind you now.
