43F.  7:23 AP.  Intended to do an 11-mile progression run today but it ended up being just 10 plus a cooldown mile.

8:09, 7:56, 7:44, 7:34, 7:23, 7:13, 7:02, 6:53, 6:43, 6:39, 7:53.

I probably should have been able to keep it up and finish in the 6:20s, but it was a definite "off day."  I was already breathing too hard at mile 3...mile 10 ended with a steep 30-40 ft hill and I knew I was done after that.  MP felt like 10k pace, just a yuck-day.  I am hoping the 22-miler is just still in my legs, although you'd think 5 days is enough to recover.  Oh well, taper is coming up soon.  I do have 1 more workout next week; maybe it won't be quite as confidence-shattering.

Just so you know...Last year on Dec. 30 you ran 5 miles @ 8:24. It's amazing how far you've come.

I think the the mental monster is trying to play games with your head...just breath and run..!!!

22 miles with 14 sub 7 take a toll ... 4 more fast miles after 6 is great! Nice run, right now good nights sleep will help you more than speedy workouts ... you'll be ready to roll in 2 weeks!

You are a man of consistency! I agree, your pace has bolted up the ladder. Who knows what you will be capable of as you continue to train properly.

Ok Burt made me laugh... You always bounce back solid- and I will take it anytime!

Yeah, don't stress over it. Still plenty good to set you up for Houston. That needs to be your next good one, whereever the workouts fall in the meantime is fine in my opinion. You did it once and you will most likely be able to do it again.
