24F, N 12 mph.  8:35 AP.  So yesterday was my first day off since November, and I might have gotten injured on it.  Last night, after we drove home, the outside of my right foot started hurting when I would turn on it.  This morning I could feel it while running, and it got steadily worse, especially when I made right turns, or ran on uneven/bumpy roads where I didn't land normally.  Then when I finished the run and started walking, it felt even worse.  Now I'm limping around...  So I'll probably try to spend the morning consulting Dr. Google.  It's a weird one, not really sensitive to touch.  The insertion of the peroneus tendon, way down at the edge of the foot is what I'm mostly looking at for now.  A few days off are definitely in order....*#$^%!

I've had random things pop up like that before and disappear within a few days. Hopefully it's just a little residual irritation from the race.

Joe: is it toward the toes or toward the heel? I've had issues with my peroneal tendon before (assuming what you have is the same thing). I tweaked it in the fall on a long run tempo on uneven trail, ran my half PR on it a week later, which caused it to flare up. Easy running and one day of rest took care of it. In addition to the usual stuff (ice and such) I also wore hard-soled shoes (those Keen sandals with the hard rubber bottoms), which sounds counter-intutive but they worked really well (even though I looked silly with compression socks under sandals).

The one thing that's making me worry less is that it came on pretty suddenly, so hopefully nothing long-term. 800 mg of ibuprofen and a couple hours glued to my chair have helped a little.

Jason - I'd say kind of mid-foot, just behind (to the posterior side) of that bump on the outside edge of your foot, where tendon meets bone. Thanks for your input, hopefully this is as short-lived as your experience.

Off days are never that friendly for me either, everything gets all stiff and rebellious. I was just posting about it on Andrea's blog. Sorry to hear about the foot, hopefully it's a quick recovery!

I hope it goes away. I had peroneal tendonitis, one time in each ankle and it made it so I could not even walk normally. Both times I spent right about 4 weeks on an elliptical. You probably nipped it in the bud early by taking care of it, back then I tended to ignore injuries until it was too late.

Ouch, 4 weeks. Yeah, I hope this is more of an acute type flare-up, because I'm more than ready to get going already...
