Hullo all

this has taken me a while, and I never did manage to keep my training diary up this year - but thought I'd let the few of you who've responded recently know that I CRACKED IT!

I had a glorious day at the London Marathon in complete contrast to last year's race.

Each milestone or landmark I passed, I could only remember how dreadful I felt last year and how good it felt this. My pace was solid for the whole race - even speeding up for the last 2 miles, and to cross the line with 71 seconds to spare was brilliant...

The rain thrashed down for around an hour between hours 1 and 2, but that was actually quite fun and refreshing.

39 minutes off my PB - now that would cause anyone to smile. I know its nothing compared to you speedy guys (and gals) but for me it is a MASSIVE thing. MASSIVE.

The annoying thing now is that I might have to go and do it all over again as I enjoyed it so much...

Congratulations on a huge pr, sounds like you had a really good race and the great feeling of being able to speed up and finish strongly. What a cheesy grin! Shame you don't blog more regularly, there is not some many fellow Brits on the blog.
