I remember! I remember why I love running! Today I went out to Muddy Creek Trail for the first time. Beautiful little paved trail with yellow wildflowers and great trees. Passed by a couple playgrounds, will be fun to take the kids out here. I wore the garmin but didn't look at it the whole time. Was pleasantly suprised at end of run when I realized I'd averaged 9:14. Much better than the 10:00 pace I've been doing lately.

New running trails are such an adventure. Great to run sometimes and not look at the time. Sounds like your enjoying your new home.

Definitely sounds like an excellent trail!

It seems your enjoying W-S. I lived there when I was a kid, 1986 to 1990. Have you visited Old Salem yet? I remember going on a field trip there. I was in fourth grade while we lived there and got to study NC history. We took a trip to the coast. I love the Outerbanks.

Then whenever family came to visit we'd always take them to the RJR tobacco/Nabisco plant. The tour was fun. You learned about how cigarettes are made and then you could pick out a Nabisco treat at the end. I don't know if they still have that tour.

You asked about what I was up to... Well, I think I'm gettin' the knack of taking care of two kids. Boise is good. Although I still get "homesick" for Iowa. Church keeps me busy too. Lars, my husband, bought a franchise, The Grout Doctor. He cleans, restores, and/or replaces people's grout in their tiled showers, floor, and countertops. It's going well. He's super busy which I why I'm looking for a way to run with the kids. I found a double that I like, but it's $500. Business is good, but not that good. So I'm going to keep looking.

One of the things I love about Boise is there are tons more races.

Better run. Will's asking very nicely if I'll read him a book. Have a great day! And congratulations on a very enjoyable run.

When did you move? Are you liking it out in NC?

Thanks for the comment on my post. No races planned as of yet, but I would really like to find a 10 or 15K so I can keep some of the training up from the half. Have a wonderful day!

Hi! Your run sounds gorgeous. My week-day runs are always around the 'hood at 5 am, so I'm jealous!

It sounds like you're really doing great with your training for Nov 8th. Thank goodness it's cooling off! Summertime in the south can be unbearable - can't it?
