A little drizzle and pretty cool this morning for my long run. But once the drizzle stopped, it was really pretty ideal. The plan today was to go long and work in a small tempo run at a little faster than marathon pace. So I ran an 11-mile "warmup" an then jumped into the four miles. 5:22, 5:12, 5:12 and 5:15. Little faster on the last three than I wanted but it was nice to open it up for the first time since Monday's half marathon. I ran the whole run in my trainers to help take some of the load off of my calves. I feel 95% recovered which is good heading into the final seven weeks of marathon training.
Felt fortunate to hit 80 miles for the week given the recovery from the half. |
