After a poor night's sleep on a rock hard A-frame bed at Scout camp, and a full day of trying to keep scouts from killing themselves and one another, I got to the track back home around 6:30pm. Fortunately, the hottest part of the day was past, but it was still in the low 70s with just a hint of a breeze.
I was pretty doubtful about my second attempt at yesterday's workout. 7x1000m @3:08 on just 60 seconds rest.
Splits were as follows:
3:06, 3:07, 3:08, 3:06, 3:08, 3:06, 3:06. I was totally shocked. After six I almost had to call it quits due to some restroom issues, but I perservered and made it through a challenging workout at the end of a long day. What a difference 36 hours makes. |
