Nice and easy 4 to test the knee, and it felt really good. Maybe it was the fact that I wasn't running in snow and uphill/downhill, or it could have been all of the Ibuprofen I've been eating since the run on Sat. Either way I'm good to go.

Glad you are GOOD TO GO!!!!

What is the calories that your are tracking? Is that how many you eat?

From Scott Wesemann on Mon, Jan 04, 2010 at 17:36:39 from 66.239.250.209

Thanks Kelli. Yeah, I track how many I eat every day. I try and eat around 2000, but I'll eat quite a bit more if I am hiking or doing a longer run.

Was this 4 miles outside or on the treadmill? For me, running in the snow is easier on my knees than running on the road. Also, uphill running has the least amount of impact on your joints. Downhill running is the exact opposite.

From Scott Wesemann on Tue, Jan 05, 2010 at 16:10:48 from 66.239.250.209

On the TM, and for me downhill is always the worst, and running on the road isn't the best either. I was realy sore though after the run on Saturday, but I think some of that was because I was running up and down a sledding hill for two hours the day before.

From Kelli on Tue, Jan 05, 2010 at 16:56:15 from 71.219.96.112

Sledding---the most brutal sport out there! It is the only activity in which I have broken bones (more than once).

From Scott Wesemann on Tue, Jan 05, 2010 at 17:01:49 from 66.239.250.209

Yep, my 9 year old daughter broke her collar bone a few years ago on New Years Day. Some punk ran over her full speed, and made no effort to slow down or stop. It was ugly.

This year we were the only people on this small hill, and we made it as kid friendly as possible, but I still tweaked some muscles in my back. It is REALLY dangerous.

We live kiddy corner from a park with a perfect hill, too, but it still scares me!!!

I broke my collar bone---4 times!!!

From Scott Wesemann on Tue, Jan 05, 2010 at 17:06:56 from 66.239.250.209

WOW! I hear it is one of the most painful bones to break. Hopefully all 4 were not sledding. That is the only broken bone we have had in our family. Maybe we aren't playing hard enough :)

From Kelli on Tue, Jan 05, 2010 at 17:13:21 from 71.219.96.112

All were sledding!

From Scott Wesemann on Tue, Jan 05, 2010 at 17:15:07 from 66.239.250.209

I hope you're retired now. :)

(from sledding)

Like I said, it scares me. But our park is little, and I ride with my 4 year old nice and slow!
