View Benchmark with Jun:

After I put my kids to bed I met Jun at Ann's trail to run VB. On the way to the trailhead I noticed that the weather was a little unsettled across the valley and a storm was moving east and I could see pockets of rain. VB looked clear, but there was a chance it would hit us, but it didn't look too bad. The temps were almost perfect and we settled into a nice run talking the whole way. The miles flew by and we had a fun time.

On the upper trail the wind picked up and it was definitely colder, but still not too bad. We hit the top around 46 minutes, which is respectable, but we weren't pushing it. After a quick break we went down. I was usung a small handheld flashlight that I received from a vendor at the SLC Business Expo last week and it pretty much sucked. We held a solid pace back down to the lower trail and then it was an easy run the last few miles as we talked the whole time. Fun run. I'll give it 4 stars.

That was fun, thanks for going.

great social runs are my favorite. Sorry about the flashlight, but well...I guess you get what you pay for :)

There is a group of people meeting at corner canyon for a 6AM run (3 up then back) tomorrow (Fri). I think I'm going to join them!! Got any fun/easy plans for Saturday I could tag along with? Maybe even in the evening?

Rad- I am getting out for a run early tomorrow, but I'm not sure where yet. Maybe View B or Lake Mountain. I'll probably start around 6ish.

From RAD on Fri, May 25, 2012 at 15:51:31 from 98.202.23.178

Okay, well my sister is in town and I have games at 9 I SHOULD be to, but hey...whatever :) So, I'm thinking that we will do a run around here in the valley, but I think View B would be a good one for a longer Monday run. What do you think? Is it horrible elevation? We were thinking of going to Antelope Island, but she isn't ready for the 25K loop, so I thought maybe View. Or is Lake Mountain easier? Maybe she'd kill me if I drug her on a trail run like that. She is not only used to sea-level, but 'hills' back east...ha, hills. Anyway, wanted your input on either of those or an easier trail course we could do for fun on Monday.

From Scott Wesemann on Sat, May 26, 2012 at 11:40:58 from 75.162.74.96

View B isn't that tough. There is a lot of uphill running, but it is pretty mild. Lake Mt. is tougher because there is about 1000 ft more elevation gain, so it will be more difficult. I would say VB would be a good one to do, but make sure you study the route and no the turns.

hmmm, maybe we'll try something else. We did a run this morning and the 8 mile loop was just enough for her. She has taken a bit of a hiatus due to hip issues and p90X conquest, but I will talk with her and see. I don't want to get lost! We have a viewing for our step-father Mon night and funeral Tuesday, we don't want to be on the wrong side of the room :)

I'll have to venture up there with you once so I know the way...THEN I can take someone else.

What time do you usually go on weekdays and where is the trail head?
