Since I'm not running this week I wanted to get in a workout, so I lifted at the gym for 50 minutes (chest, triceps, pull ups).

My recovery is going well. I have very little soreness in my legs and I've been taking the stairs at work since Wed (I'm on the 4th floor). My toes are still very sore though and I won't be running at all this week.

Check out this video that Jun put together from the race.

Have you tried soaking your toes in epsom salt? That has seemed to speed up the recovery for me in the past, although I've never dealt w/ anything in the same ballpark to what your feet had to go through last week!

From Scott Wesemann on Fri, Sep 16, 2011 at 13:32:29 from 205.158.160.209

Jake- No I haven't. I will definitely give it a try though. Thanks.

I love that video. You look so happy all of the time!!!

Is it blisters? Make sure you pop them. I promise it speeds up the recovery. I never run 100 miles, but I have had sore toes (especially from the last 25 miles of that darn Wasatch course, and that was ll of it that I ran! I lost 3 toenails from that run!)

Glad to hear the recovery is going well.

From Scott Wesemann on Fri, Sep 16, 2011 at 14:12:40 from 205.158.160.209

Kelli- Yeah, I have a few nagging blisters and one of my big toe nails is really sore. I had a HUGE blister on the same big toe and the doc at the race popped it and wrapped it up for me. It is still tender. I was smiling a lot until the last 25. I don't think I smiled much after Brighton.

From Kelli on Fri, Sep 16, 2011 at 14:15:59 from 71.219.67.175

You smiled at the finish when it counted. ;o)

Just make sure the blisters do not refill, keep them popped. They will be back to good in no time, just really ugly. Runners have the ugliest feet.

I just watched the video.

1. Jun spinning circles at 4am had me cracking up

2. The finish w/ your girls... man, that's what its all about. Loved that!

From Scott Wesemann on Fri, Sep 16, 2011 at 15:24:26 from 205.158.160.209

Jun and I were having a blast! Well, the last 25 not so much. yeah, running in with my girls was awesome.

From Chad on Fri, Sep 16, 2011 at 15:26:41 from 204.113.19.55

Cool video. Loved it.

I still thinking the kissing was my favorite! I think you scared Matt and the other guy, who I am assuming was a stranger?!? So funny.

From gdoc on Fri, Sep 16, 2011 at 23:26:34 from 98.202.195.25

Scott...huge congratulations on such an epic achievement in mind over matter. Totally impressed!

From Kira Bell on Sat, Sep 17, 2011 at 15:40:59 from 160.7.243.169

Scott- thanks for you last comment about doing anything you set your mind to, I think that is so true! Everyone I talk to about running inspires me! I think there is something instilled in a runners heart about never giving up and pushing through it. It's a great attitude to have not just in physical activity but through out life! :) Thanks again. I really needed that. Sometimes, I feel like such a loser compared to all you big time runners... but thats okay! Progress is progress!

From RAD on Sun, Sep 18, 2011 at 13:10:23 from 76.27.16.189

LOVE the video. I can't believe you have little soreness - you can't be human! Monday I was running Lehi JRP and noticing the lights at the top of Lake Mtn and thinking about you running up there. I guess it may take a week for you to get there again. Maybe with your toes so sore I should try to keep up with you now! :)

From Scott Wesemann on Mon, Sep 19, 2011 at 14:43:16 from 205.158.160.209

Kelli- Haha. The other guy was MatthewVS and not a stranger. Ha.

Thanks gdoc!

Kira- You're welcome. Don't feel like a loser at all. We all need to improve and get better and the best part is we are in control of every day moving forward. :)

Rad- Thanks for the support. yeah, I have been looking up there too. I'm sure I'll be hitting it soon.

From Dorsimus on Mon, Sep 19, 2011 at 21:09:06 from 75.162.135.95

Ha ha - Yes the scratchy faced kiss scared me a little - but I wasn't too surprised coming from Scott. :)

Good to know that you were acquainted with everyone you smooched.
