I had a sweet run on the JRP in Lehi this morning, starting from the flight park again. I felt really good and it was so relaxing to crank the ipod and run. Usually I like running with someone, but today I thoroughly enjoyed every mile by myself.  A little after 5 the trail was closed and ripped up, so I stopped had a gel and then turned around and ran back to the car. There were a lot of people out this morning and the weather was perfect.

Back at the car I took a break to drink some Gatorade, take a gel and an S-cap, and then I ran almost back to where I had before, but because of the time I had to turn around and get home. Everything felt really good. I ran an 8:30 pace for about the first 11 miles and after that I just tried to keep it under 9, although the last few miles I lost a bit of steam. So fun. Total time 2:44.

Nice run Scott... where is this course and was it worth the drive to do it? I'm needing some new options for long runs when I need one.

Nicely done Scott! Big miles this week!

gdoc, its just the Jordan River Parkway, starting at the Model Aviation park in Saratoga Springs. The construction Scott is talking about is around 1500 N where they are planning to replace the bridge and are working on a new road. You can also head south from where he started and run all the way down Utah Lake on the trail is it parallels Redwood Rd.

Nice miles today Scott.

Thanks guys. Gdoc, the trail is beautiful and I would definitely drive 30-40 minutes to run it, but I would probably wait for the maintenance to be completed. I'm not sure when that will happen. I really love the trail.

Unfortunately, if I remember right that section of trail isn't supposed to be fixed and usable till much later this year, like Fall. A total bummer, really. Maybe they'll find a way to get it done earlier.

That sucks. I would love to run the whole thing.

You ran by yourself? I hope you didn't go blind.

Nice run man, way to get it done!
