Personal:

I decided to join to hold myself accountable for my training and because I love learning from others running experiences.  I just started running a little over a year ago and have a lot to learn.  I work fulltime as a Manager of Telecommunications for Intermountain Healthcare and go to school online through Weber State University.  If you want to know more check out my blog: www.runningfortrevor.blogspot.com

Multi city Long run with JulieC starting at her house in pg. First 10 miles easy but hilly, 8:12 pace. Lots of day dreaming about when we ran this loop over the Summer......ahhh those were the days! Then I started a tempo 6:30, 6:10, 6:10, 6:03, 6:04. Short stop after mi 2 to make sure I was going the right way & the last mile was quite aided. That said going fast felt really good and fairly comfortable.

I felt great during the run but afterwards started getting dizzy and nurse Julie had to revive me and bring me back to life with her magical orange juice. I've never been the brightest crayon in the box but doing this run with no fluids knowing my history of dehydration & low blood sugar was really stupid. Lesson learned! Truth be told I haven't drank or taken in fuel at all this winter. My hands just don't work in the winter and I don't get thirsty. Hopefully my lack of practice doesn't effect me too much in Phoenix.

Fantastic workout! I really was hoping to catch you on your way back to Julie's. Now I know why I didn't..you were smokin' in those last five miles. Nice job.

I agree with Lily, you are on fire! Being able to hold those paces after 10 hilly miles is a very, very good sign!!

I had a hydration issue today to... then half way into my run I remember you telling me I need to drink so I ate a bunch of snow:)

You ran by my house today :) I'm so excited for your race. You have been killing all your workouts and are going to ROCK your marathon! Way to get it done today!

Wow Rachelle impressive tempo!

Rachelle, are you doing the Phoenix marathon? I have a few friends from here that are doing it too! It is going to be a fast race, you will totally rock it!

BTW, I have that low blood sugar thing too, it is horrible. I passed out at the end of the Austin 1/2 marathon - they couldn't get my blood pressure it was so low. I have started taking carbs before workouts (1/2 power bar or a couple Cliff Shot Blocks) and I have gotten much better.

Thanks so much everyone!

Bonnie - I am actually running the IMS arizona half marathon in Phoenix on feb 17th. I have passed out at the end of 2 marathons and 1 half. My mom & sister both have the same problem with low blood sugar & passing out. I'm usually really good about keeping it under control but was definitely just stupid today. Gatorade & or carbs definitely makes a world of difference for me.
