Personal:

I decided to join to hold myself accountable for my training and because I love learning from others running experiences.  I just started running a little over a year ago and have a lot to learn.  I work fulltime as a Manager of Telecommunications for Intermountain Healthcare and go to school online through Weber State University.  If you want to know more check out my blog: www.runningfortrevor.blogspot.com

12 mile out and back in Provo Canyon with JulieC in 1:33.  My legs were definitely feeling heavier than normal this morning but it was still a great run with Julie.  I really need to get me a new pair of stability trainers for all of these junk miles I've been running.  Kinvaras are just too light and do not support my knees/IT band well at all.  Why do I have to be so dang hard on shoes.  Sheesh!

Finally closing on my house refi this afternoon!  What a huge sigh of relief Yippee!

It was a great day to run outside! I do agree about the shoes, those offer very little support. I can not wear mine for very long. Everything starts to hurt!

Yeah for the closing!

I finally switched to the Kinvara 3s... and they are great, but I'm actually only wearing them for "faster" recovery runs and long runs (which have been fast lately) when I'm more up on my toes. On the days where I'm just plodding along, I like a little extra cushion/stability.

Yeah Jake & Kelli I can definitely tell that I've been doing way too much running in my Kinvaras! I am just don't want to buy another pair of shoes but I think I'll start wearing my old Mirages until I can afford a new pair. I am just so hard on shoes. All of my shoes have holes. But for some reason I don't throw them away and just stash them in my closet. haha I'm a running shoe horder!

Can you talk Saucony into a size 6.5 wear tester Jake. :-)

I firmly believe shoes can go well past 400 miles... don't tell my sponsor that I said that :-) I've got ~850 on my current pair of Rides and my Mirages are at ~650.

Good to mix it up though. Better to alternate w/ an "old" pair of stability shoes that wear the Kinvaras every single day.

If the standards applied, Jake would need a new pair of shoes every two and a half weeks!

I hang on to old shoes to rotate with my regular shoes here and there (probably longer than I should). I really only buy like 3 new pairs of shoes a year and I hit close to 3000 miles a year the last couple of years. ;o)

Shoes always last a lot longer when rotated. The EVA takes 24-48 hrs to fully "recover" after its been compressed.

So if you keep alternating, the foam will stay resilient a lot longer.

Its sort of like running in general: stress followed by recovery usually makes your body last longer than stress followed by stress.

You are so smart Jake! I will definitely take your advice and start rotating some of my older shoes into the mix. 70 mile weeks in the Kinvaras for me is just asking for an injury.
