Woke up feeling much better this morning.  I am so glad I waited an extra day to get over the cold plus I had awesome company in JulieC!!  Running with someone else is so much fun when you get really used to running alone.

We started out slow running up Provo Canyon, first mile was like 8:45?  I felt good the first 9 miles and even the steep uphill mile up south fork and then all of a sudden I started having shooting pain on the inside of my left foot.  It just felt like my shoes were laced WAY tight and cutting off my circulation or something.  Very weird and it continued for the remainder of the run.  We had planned to tempo the last 4 miles but both of our left foots were hurting so we decided to just run and not worry about pace.  Which is totally the way to go because we were running tempo pace (for me Julie is much faster) and I did not even realize it.  Aerobically it felt easy but I just wanted to get the run over with because my stupid foot was killing me.  Anyway pace up the canyon was 8:11 and pace down was 7:21 for an overall of 7:46-7:47 depending on whos garmin you look at.  :)

Now back to the dumb foot.  Julie is thinking it is PF and that does seem right.  This was my 3rd time wearing the Kinvaras, 1st time on a LR.  I did wear them for speedwork on wednesday and had no problems.  Do you think it is the shoes?  Just asking anyone and looking for opinions.  I am not freaking out too bad because I had similar problems before Boston and it ended up just being nerve related.

Okay enough about me!  After the run we rushed up to Orem park and barely missed Melody's finish.  She won by a long shot running in 36 minutes. wow, wow, wow!  So fun to meet her.  Did not get to see Jake becauce he was out running but congrats to him as well.

Longest non race report ever.  sorry!!!

I like long reports :) that is why I type them! I'm glad you were able to take it easy, and yes you could say you were MP tempo-ing it in. Not sure about the foot, but I know that switching into a new unsupported shoe takes a LOT of slow easing, so it might be the shoes. Maybe put them on the shelf for a week and see if it goes away, then you'll know to stick to shorter distances in the new ones.

Good run this morning. Its so awesome that you just cruise at 7:20 pace now w/out even realizing it.

Hmmm on the foot - I wouldn't panic but I'd be careful - wear your mirages for the next couple days (and you next workout) and see if the pain subsides. Lots of cold water immersion this weekend. No disasters now - you are in shape for a gigantic PR!

I like my garmins reading :D-- 7:46. My garmin likes to GIVE a lot on averages. I hope the pain is subsiding?? did you ice it yet? massage the calves like I mentioned. I think it is the kinvaras. McKenzie started wearing them in Feb/Mar when she got severe PF. Whenever I try on the Kinvaras my right foot feels great in them but my left foot feels funny at the arch so I never buy them. I know everyone is different but two different foot lengths can off set the position of your foot in the left shoe. MY poor left foot is a whole half size smaller and has to swim a lot in shoes. It is always trying to find the right place in a shoe. I should just buy two pair so I can have the right size right? D: Happy, speedy recovery my friend. See you Monday!!

I doubt it's the shoes. Don't worry. I like what Jake said....
