Personal:

I decided to join to hold myself accountable for my training and because I love learning from others running experiences.  I just started running a little over a year ago and have a lot to learn.  I work fulltime as a Manager of Telecommunications for Intermountain Healthcare and go to school online through Weber State University.  If you want to know more check out my blog: www.runningfortrevor.blogspot.com

Slept in and just ran this morning.  I did a 2 mile warmup and then 3 x 3-2-1 minute on/off intervals.  I was still feeling good after that so I finished up with 5 x 1 minute on/off.  I started out conservatively and by the end was running the 1 minute intervals at about 6:10 pace.  I felt really strong.

Is anyone in UT county interested in getting together for a 5k time trial next Saturday?  I want to torture myself with a 5k to make marathon pace feel easy breezy and the race I was planning to run was cancelled.  Let me know if you are interested.

Nice job and yes, I may be up for that! :)

Nice workout - good to get some faster running and not beat the legs up too much.

If you can't find anyone to run w/ on Saturday, I'd be more than happy to meet you on Sunday and pace you. We're running the Striders 1/2 on Saturday so that day is out.

Thanks for the offer Jake! I will definitely let you know.

I was even thinking about doing it on the new Provo 5k course. There is really only 1 major light on that route and if I can get JulieC to come I'm sure she could divert traffic. :)

that's a great idea - I was actually going to suggest that! On a weekend morning I think it would be relatively traffic-free

why is EVERY saturday a wind-storm? have fun pacing riverton in this...

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 77. Windy, with a south wind 26 to 29 mph increasing to between 34 and 37 mph. Winds could gust as high as 55 mph.

From Rachelle on Thu, Mar 29, 2012 at 12:37:45 from 159.212.71.77

ha ha nice! I am glad I am not racing, however keeping a 8:22 pace against wind could prove to be difficult...

If we can weather these storms they will only make us stronger for Boston right?

From Jake K on Thu, Mar 29, 2012 at 12:38:36 from 155.100.226.54

I'm hoping in the next 2 weeks the wind finds a way to shift about 2000 miles east, and come from the west instead of south.

Okay I had to check out Rachelle's blog because Jake mentioned he's been helping you out. Wow for only picking up running a year ago you are making some huge gains! Nice work. Those PR's are very solid. Also a nice smart workout for the day!

From JulieC on Thu, Mar 29, 2012 at 21:05:53 from 70.56.109.68

IF JulieC is miraculously cured from the dreaded PF disease. I am certain it is a disease!! I can't believe I caught it!! I been wearing a boot which is helping. So Rachelle, I will come block the lights for you!! :D. If anything I would like to run the TT with you if I can remember HOW to run. I am serious. I try to run and I am so nervous about the pain in my foot that I just run weird.

From Rachelle on Fri, Mar 30, 2012 at 10:00:36 from 159.212.71.25

Thanks Hamdog - that reminds me that I need to update those PR's. :) I have improved my 5k & 10k times. And yes Jake is basically a genius and joining the blog was the smartest thing I ever did. Before I joined I was just running as hard as I could for as long as I could everyday. ha!

JulieC - :(:( I hope you are feeling good enough to do the TT with me next saturday. Are you still going to pace Riverton tomorrow?
