Personal:

I decided to join to hold myself accountable for my training and because I love learning from others running experiences.  I just started running a little over a year ago and have a lot to learn.  I work fulltime as a Manager of Telecommunications for Intermountain Healthcare and go to school online through Weber State University.  If you want to know more check out my blog: www.runningfortrevor.blogspot.com

Slept in until 6:15 (so nice!) and then ran 7 miles outside around my house.  It was a nice morning but traffic was crazy.

I am running the Utah Runner Girls half marathon in Alpine tomorow!  It is an all female race and my only goals are to have fun and beat my previous unaided half time of 1:39.  I heard the course is really hilly and coming off of one of my highest mileage week in a long time I'm not sure what to expect.  They are also handing out chocolate and cupcakes at the aid stations so that may slow me down a bit if I decide to partake. :)

Anyone else running this half?

Use it as a good workout. A hilly course at altitude is a great way to cap off some higher mileage training. Build into the run if possible. That's how I approached the 15K I ran a few weeks ago, and I felt very strong over the last couple miles, and bounced back to have some good workouts the following week.

You should definitely accept any chocolate treats! Its preparation in case you ever want to run an ultra! :-)

I work. But sounds fun. I wouldn't eat the cake because I don't like that when I am running. That's just me. But I will say Alpine is all about hilly courses. No big PRs but FUN TIMES!! hope it starts early. I left today just after 9 am and NEVER felt so OVER HEATED!! I even soaked my shirt in the bathroom at the golf course. Still didn't make a difference. I drank and drank when I got home and lost 3 pounds anyway!!!
