Personal:

I decided to join to hold myself accountable for my training and because I love learning from others running experiences.  I just started running a little over a year ago and have a lot to learn.  I work fulltime as a Manager of Telecommunications for Intermountain Healthcare and go to school online through Weber State University.  If you want to know more check out my blog: www.runningfortrevor.blogspot.com

I know it is past the window of complaining about DST but man my sleep is so messed up this week.  So tired!

pushups/planks - felt like weaksauce!

Ran for 60 minutes easy, 7.1 miles.

I learned a very valuable lesson today:  I should always brush my hair out immediately after running in a windstorm.  It took me a full 15 min (I only allow myself 20 min to get ready in the am) just to brush through my rats nest.  Fortunetely I have the worlds thickest hair because I probably brushed out half of it.  ha!

PM:  5k in 26 minutes.  So much for tapering for my race Saturday. ha!  I just like to run. :)

haha. yikes. i've had that problem before after some very windy track meets (i always used to run with my hair down; don't ask me why). unfortunately for me, my hair is extremely thin, so every strand is very precious.

LOL. Mine always gets twisted up if it's down too.

we were still complaining about DST this morning as well. I think you are allowed to complain for 6 days.

I am so bugged by DLS!! I am still so tired, can't get to sleep at night, then dragging in the morning! BOO!!!! Nice job getting out :)

I hear ya on the sleep, but I can't blame all of it on DST...well, maybe I can! :)

I have resorted to running with my pony tail in a braid for that exact reason! The last time I tried to run with my hair down I had the same issue. I call it a snarly raccoon tail! :)

I usually just put a ton of conditioner in my hair and can get all the knots out like that. I'm like Allie - every hair is precious!

LOVE it. I wish you kept your hair. I have lost a lot of my thickness the last 10 years. btw I find the wind quite relaxing (when it is in 50 degree weather). Glad you took it easy today!! :D

From JulieC on Wed, Mar 14, 2012 at 11:22:46 from 67.41.189.177

and DST is still kicking me down when I'm already down.

From Rachelle on Wed, Mar 14, 2012 at 14:57:09 from 159.212.71.200

Rachel - I will have to try that with the braids. I always wear my hair in a pony tail but yesterday it was so windy I was eating my hair for dinner the entire run.....and I only managed 2 miles. Yikes! Then I slept on the rats nest and proceeded to run again....by the time I finally delt with it I nearly needed a chain saw to comb through it. :)

You could just put a running hat on! Hey whats your running schedule for 2012?
