Personal:

I decided to join to hold myself accountable for my training and because I love learning from others running experiences.  I just started running a little over a year ago and have a lot to learn.  I work fulltime as a Manager of Telecommunications for Intermountain Healthcare and go to school online through Weber State University.  If you want to know more check out my blog: www.runningfortrevor.blogspot.com

6.6 mi easy with Jen, shortened orchard loop. Slept in my running clothes so that I could sleep right until 6am and I'm pretty sure I was still asleep the first few miles. 7 hours of sleep was lovely! :)

Pm: 2.4 easy 8:00 pace. Totally random comment but I've noticed that the faster I've gotten the slower my recovery runs have become. I used to have a hard time running easy and now I look forward to it. Not sure this is significant at all but I was just thinking about it this afternoon and thought it was worth noting.

When I lived in Vail, it was so hard to get out of bed at 4am to hike up the mountain before work because it was so cold out... so I used to sleep in my ski socks and ski pants... and then I could just pop out of bed and by 95% ready to go.

That's the great thing about summer... no getting ready in the morning. Just put on shoes and you're ready!

That's a great idea. You might just start a trend. Mind you, I think the wife would go nuts if I got into bed with my trainers, hat, gloves and stinky running jacket.

I am really jealous of your 7 hours of sleep!!

I've totally done this. It really does make a difference. No excuses. Nice job on the sleep and the run. Both are important.

Sorry I slept in. I got 8 hours of sleep! :)

That's a funny idea. Nice job on the sleep/run!

Thanks for sharing the thought on recovery run pacing. Very important stuff and hard to put your mind around.

The faster you run on workouts, the slower you tend to end up running your recovery runs. Just think, once you get your half marathon down to 1:06, you'll be doing your easy runs at 9 minute pace like me! :-)

Letting yourself run easier has been a big part of your improvement over the past year. You have to let your body absorb the workload and not be pressing all the time. Running relaxed is important.

8 pace is easy but not that slow....I ran 4@849 at 430 yesterday. Nausea.so no way on mood to run faster. O didnt break a sweat.
