Personal:

I decided to join to hold myself accountable for my training and because I love learning from others running experiences.  I just started running a little over a year ago and have a lot to learn.  I work fulltime as a Manager of Telecommunications for Intermountain Healthcare and go to school online through Weber State University.  If you want to know more check out my blog: www.runningfortrevor.blogspot.com

35 minutes full body weights.  triceps, shoulders, chest & back.  The only thing I like about marathon tapering is screwing around in the weights section more and pretending like I know what I'm doing. haha

Tempo workout 2 x 3 miles.  I wanted these miles to be about 20-25 seconds faster than MP to build a little bit of confidence.  Why do I always start doubting myself right before races?  Anyway Warmed up 1 mile and then went into the first set 7:14, 7:09, 7:00, half mile jog in between and then into the second set 7:14, 7:09, 6:58, 6:48 (half mile).  All at 1% incline except the last quarter mile when I hit 5k pace and dropped down to .5.

I didn't feel great to start but once I got going I got into a rythm and by the end I felt pretty good and like I could have kept going.  A great workout!

PM:  jogged for 12 minutes with the pup.  No watch but we probably barely broke 10 minute mile.  My calves are sufficiently sore from the tempo this morning.

"screwing around in the weights section more and pretending like I know what I'm doing." Made me laugh. :)

Your training has been so good this year. I'm excited to see how you do at Boston.

A great workout indeed!! Way to get after it. I hope I run that one just as strong later today :-)

If you start to doubt yourself at all just take a quick glance back over your past 2 months... your running has been incredible!

you are the mozart of the treadmill. sweet tempo! Jake says he wont go out to eat before the race in Boston( totally understandable) , but you will right Rachelle ?! : )

Scott - I am glad I made you laugh. I really should figure out what I'm doing. ha!

Jake - Thanks! You will do awesome this afternoon. No doubt.

Cam - Yeah I should be up for dinner. Which wave are you in? Maybe we can meet at the busses and ride to the start together. There are busses that take runners to the start right.....

What are your training plans this weekend? I am trying to put together a 5k TT on Fri or Sat. Let me know if your interested.

haha, so I found out today I am essentially the last person to start the boston marathon. Jake will be on the front and I will be starting DFL! haha, Kind of bummed but hopefully I'll be in a position to still run fast ahead of congestion.

Im free saturday, I work at 3 but I dont really want to run the half or the 10 miler so a TT 5k sounds good
