Holy Cow....I did it!

I did the Utah Half Ironman Tri on sat. My first Tri ever! The morning of the race I woke up cursing my husband for talking me into signing up for this!

All I have to say is running after biking that long.....UUUGGGGGG!

I feel like I got a huge education in triathlons.......looking back now, there is so many things I would have done different.....live and learn.

I am however very please with my time. I had several goals and mini self accomplishments for me!

I wanted to do it in under 6 hrs! I wanted to do the bike portion in under 3 hrs! This is the furthest I have ever rode my bike in my life! First open water swim with other people kicking and clawing! Got to kiss my hubby on the run course (I know cheesy!)

My only frustration is I walked over half of the run course. The bike trashed my legs and it was super duper hot!

Also, my back and knee felt pretty good the whole time!

swim: 39:37

T1: 3.28

bike: 2:57:54

T2: 2:39

Run: 2:12:28

Total time: 5:56:03

*Will I ever do this again........hmmmmm........we will see!

Hot dog, anji!!

That is such an accomplishment. Now YOU'RE my new hero. Way to go! Why don't you go ahead and take some time off now? You've earned it. LOL!

You will do this again!!! I am already plotting how I can do this better. You were the best cheerleader out there. I was so happy to see you each time on the run. AND... a sub 6?!?!?! on your first half ironman... That is an kick butt time!!! The run is always hard on these events. I would rather have a good swim and bike... I just hope someday I will show up with a good run. GOOD JOB!!!!
