I jogged around (0.4 of a mile) outside on the way into the office and my lefty is sure tight and sore today. As a result, I played it safe today with my workout by doing 10.0 miles on the elliptical machine.

i was going to ask you yesterday, but somehow i missed all conversation with you...are you planning on running SLC this year? if not, any spring marathon plans?

No worries Allie, I'm just even quieter than normal when it's way cold outside. For 2013 marathons, it's Salt Lake, Ogden, Des News (I did not even have to waste time typing this one, this is a given), Portland, then maybe one more (thinking I might try Charlotte if I can fit in a visit to my sister at the same time). Also, I'll probably try that Strider's Half again as a training run for Ogden (that was a fun race last year). So besides Woodlands and Des News, do you have any other marathons on the schedule?

excellent. that's a great schedule, and i figured you would be all over the utah marathons. :)

my plans are kind of on hold until i see how things go at the woodlands. i'm definitely in for des news and TOU. i usually don't make any plans for SLC until 2-3 weeks out from the race, but i'm quite sure i will end up in one of the races, but more likely the half this year. i'm also planning on strider's half again this year. may/june is wide open at this point -- i may try utah valley since i've never done that one. james and i will also be at ogden, but we'll be on the sidelines as volunteers. we will be sure to cheer loudly for you (we'll bring our trumpets).

Hey Allie! The Utah Valley Marathon would be a good one to try. Also, I sort of like the changes to the Salt Lake Marathon and Half Marathon courses; that is, finishing in Liberty Park should make it a tad bit faster than having to run up State Street just to then run back down South Temple. Also, it will be awesome to have you and James volunteering at Ogden especially if you bring your trumpets! Keep up the solid running; you are going to have a great 2013!
