Happy Easter Sunday!  Okay, I got out of the door just before 6:30 am this morning hoping to get in a nice long run at a good pace (i.e., I needed this after two days of low mileage).   The plan was to run up to Emigration Canyon, complete a few miles up the Canyon, then head back by way of Des-News Marathon Course and the Bonneville Shoreline Trail.  However, around four miles into the run (i.e., just before Westminster College) my right leg started trobing.  In short, same old tender shin and knee.  With that said, it was a really nice day, so I gutted out this 21.35-mile run at a really slow pace.  For the week ahead, the plan is ice and send lots of time with my good old friend, the elliptical machine.

Lastly, it was another day of 300 sit-ups for my non-running workout

Five-Minute Plank Challenge: 2:00

Dang...! I wish your knee problem was as simple as mine, a good old bone spur. The doctor said Just Run it will disolve itself. Hope your cycle ends soon. Oh, thanks for the explination on the split training.

Did you notice we don't have that much to say to each other now that neither the Suns or the Jazz are in the playoffs?

From I Just Run on Tue, Apr 26, 2011 at 19:04:07 from 166.205.12.225

Looks like ill be there soon! My Spurs are looking pitiful...!

From Burt on Tue, Apr 26, 2011 at 19:06:10 from 206.19.214.144

Oh my gosh Preston! Never EVER mention the Spurs. Unless it's to say that they were swept by the Suns last year. The Spurs are an abomination. Even though allie wants to marry Manu Ginobili.

raja bell.

Any other time of the year I would have a huge rebuttal.......All I can do now is humble myself :(

Here's a little gem from the discussion board:

Sasha,

If there wasn't an elite start would someone purposely start 30 sec. after the gun goes off and then catch up to the lead pack? I know it's just my evil mind at work, but it could be a shady strategy for sneaking in a win. It would be like the San Antonio Spurs who year after year resort to non-basketball techniques to win such as flopping, hip checking, and Hack-a-Shaq. Man, I hate the Spurs! They don't play basketball. They play whine-a-ball. I hope they can look back at their careers and feel good about how they whined their way to championships. What were we talking about?

Hey Rossy,

I'm just checking in to see if everything is ok... I hope your knee hasn't taken you out..!

I think he's mad that we hijacked his blog.

I'm not talking to you Burt....You jinxed my Spurs ;(

Now Preston. I'm not one to rub it in. You'll notice I haven't said anything to you since that happened, although I did rejoice in my heart.

From I Just Run on Wed, May 04, 2011 at 10:41:27 from 67.79.11.242

Okay Burt... I forgive you! Anyway, I understand all is fair in Love and Blogging...

From Rossy on Thu, May 05, 2011 at 23:37:51 from 167.138.234.18

Good evening FRB gang! Thanks for all the posts and this Emigration Canyon run really took its toll on me. However, I have been running really slow everyday and just trying to work through my issues with my right knee. It's sort of like learning to run again, but it's getting there. With my CFA studies and my runs taking longer than normal, I just have not been able to post my workouts. However, I got caught up tonight and I'm taking back my blog! By the way Preston, I'm glad to hear your issue was just a bone spur.

Very entertaining posts and you are a FRB historian Burt. I cannot believe the Spurs are gone with how unbeatable they looked for most of the regular season. By the way, all I care about is the Lakers losing.

Happy Running!

From Burt on Fri, May 06, 2011 at 03:52:57 from 72.223.90.79

The Lakers must be eliminated.

From I Just Run on Fri, May 06, 2011 at 10:40:21 from 67.79.11.242

Hey Rossy,

What's going on...Is Burt trying to suck back up to us now...?

From Burt on Fri, May 06, 2011 at 12:09:52 from 72.223.90.79

I don't know who to root for when the Spurs play the Lakers. I mostly wish a big sink hole would open up under the court and suck them all in.

From allie on Fri, May 06, 2011 at 12:16:23 from 174.23.197.101

i will be rooting for manu...

i wouldn't mind if luke walton was sucked into a sink hole.

trevor ariza, on the other hand...he's a keeper.

From Burt on Fri, May 06, 2011 at 12:18:15 from 72.223.90.79

Oh yeah? That's cool.

Trevor Ariza doesn't play for either of those teams! Know your role!

From I Just Run on Fri, May 06, 2011 at 12:18:20 from 67.79.11.242

Burt,

That's very possible for the Lakers ... They are in CA where there's a lot of earthquakes!

From Burt on Fri, May 06, 2011 at 12:19:11 from 72.223.90.79

I beat your comment by 5 seconds Preston.

From allie on Fri, May 06, 2011 at 12:23:36 from 174.23.197.101

burt - you have to look at how the comment was structured. three separate lines. three separate comments. trevor ariza is a keeper, regardless of which team he plays for.

and don't make me say irregardless!

From I Just Run on Fri, May 06, 2011 at 12:24:02 from 67.79.11.242

Ahhhhhhhhh.... 6 seconds.....!

From Burt on Fri, May 06, 2011 at 13:04:55 from 206.19.214.144

allie - why don't you go share an apple with Lily?

Please don't say irregardless.

From Rossy on Fri, May 06, 2011 at 22:19:37 from 137.207.32.113

Wow, Trevor Ariza, "a keeper," Ms. Allie you must be joking and I'll just pretend I never read such a statement on my blog. :-)
