Today was a recovery day for me; therefore, after work I hit the treadmill for a one mile jog on before heading home and out for an evening run.  For this 5k evening run, I ran over to Big Cottonwood Park and battled the wind for four laps around the softball complex before heading back to home. 

My daily non-running workout consisted of 300 sit-ups, 30 push-ups, and a 90-second wall-sit.

5-minute Plank Challenge:  2:00 (I was luck to complete this and it’s starting to sink in that this is going to be a long-term project for me)

Night Sleep Time: 4.83Nap Time: 0.33Total Sleep Time: 5.17

nice recovery run today. the plank is going to be a long-term challenge for me as well. when i first attempted this a couple of years ago (but never completed it), it took me nearly nine months to get to 3:45. i may never actually get to the full 5:00, but it has to be doing some good in the process of trying. :)

Allie, I feel the same way; that is, I may never reach 5:00, but the challenge will keep me motivated and--obviously--core strength is one of my biggest constraints to running faster (so all the pain has to be doing some good).

Again, great 8-miler today (double what I did this morning) and you experienced one of my biggest fears; that is, my nose also dries up and bleeds every winter and I'm always worrying (especially during my spring marathon) that I'll just wiggle-itch it the wrong way and it will start to bleed with 20 miles left to go in a marathon. Had it happen once in high-school basketball, but everyone assumed that I just took an elbow to the face hustling for the ball and not that my nose is just sensitive during cold weather. Plus, in basketball you get a new jersey and cleaned up really fast. It is truly 26.2 miles of potential disaster! Happy Running!
