So that's what a tempo run feels like huh? Decided to go out of my comfort zone today, I ran the first 6 miles just to the point where I was breathing harder than normal and I had to concentrate more than normal, at the turn around I stopped for a quick drink and stretch and then pushed myself as much as I could handle. It was hot and humid again but I'm just going to have to come to the realization that my marathon pace is between 6:40 and 6:50. the sooner I come to grips with it the sooner I can start getting faster again. If I can actually hold a 6:40 for 2 hours 55 minutes that's good enough for now. Anyway, I tried to hold at 6:40ish some of the uphills I had to really push it to just stay below 7:00 but the downhills I was pushing 6:00 so it evened out. At mile 11 I slowed down and took it easy the last mile back to the house.
There was a crop duster spraying mosquito repellent out Big Goose road this morning, made it less buggy, but more chemically. I'm kind of done with vacation and ready to get back home.
