7 easy miles around Sheridan this morning, now we're off to run the Sneakers and Spurs 5K. I'm going to run with Bradin my 10 year old. We're shooting for 28:00, is that good for a 10 year old? Furthest he's ran is 2 before today.

26:36 official time for Bradin

23:32 for Britt

I'm really glad we set an obtainable goal for his first race, he's totally stoked now and wants to go run more races.

I would say so. That's like saying "the furthest I've ever run is 20 miles, is a 30 mile run good?"

Well, he totally rocked it. Final results aren't in but my watch said 26:50. He ran amazingly strong.

Mile 1 9:19

Mile 2 9:00

Mile 3 7:57

.11 :34

Oh. Britt PR'd too, 23:3???

That's a big negative split. Awesome job to Bradin!

Now I know I can take him out faster next time. I just didn't want him blowing up in his first race. Every 1/2 mile I asked how he was doing and he said fine so we just kept picking it up.

That's awesome! And now you can almost guarantee he can improve that time next race! How fun, congrats to both Bradin and Britt!
