OK, today I regret not finishing just to finish.  I hurt like I ran the full 50 so I might as well have the metal to go with the pain.  I think that's the difference between Ultra runners and road runners, I gave up because I didn't think I could achieve my goals, listening to most the runners today their only goal is to finish.  Maybe that's a healthier way to view things.

Today we went and looked at retirement property in Sheridan, I could definately see myself retiring here, such a beautiful place.  I'm not quite in the market for buying property but someday.

How old are you?

Oh wait, that's probably what financially responsible people do - plan ahead.

It was more dreaming than anything. The premise was that Wyoming pays their teachers a whole lot more than Utah. I figured we could move here, Britt could work and I could retire.

Sorry it didn't go so well yesterday Rob. Try not to second guess it all too much. Bad days happen.

Make sure you visit in January before buying a place :-)

Oh, Jake. I didn't mention anywhere, but my Peregrines were amazing. Last year I got to FootBridge aid station and my feet were a bloody blistery mess. This year when they tried to give me my drop bag with dry shoes and socks I told them I didn't even want it. My wife loved hers too, when I was running through mud and snow I never once slipped. During my first 15 miles when I was actually thinking 9 hours was possible I was going to give the shoes all the credit.

Well there's a silver lining! I'm glad you both liked them. I wasn't just trying to be a Saucony fanboy w/ that recommendation... they are really good trail shoes.

Just one of those days, good to listen to your body...you might hurt even worse if you had tried to go on.

Chalk it up to a learning experience and move on. Way to be smart.
