Personal:

I herniated/ruptured a disk (L4/L5) in my back in December, 2005.  I told my orthopedic surgeon I wanted to start running.  He said "You'll never run again.".  What a challenge!  So...I started running.

Since then I've lost about 50 pounds, ran 13 marathons and a number of other races. 

I am still a clydesdale runner (over 200 lbs), have a large frame, big bones, and not built like a runner at all.  I'm not fast.  I mostly run to have some time to myself and keep in shape.

AM:  10.1 miles up and down Smithfield Canyon.  Calfs a little sore so I took it easy going up the canyon. Felt good going down.  AP:  7:44/mile.

Noon:  4.01 miles in North Logan in the heat.  Felt good.

5.25 miles in North Logan during lunch.  Did a loop instead of an out-and-back (which I usually like best).  Good jog.  7:30/mile AP.

10 miles up and down Smithfield Canyon.  Pushed it really hard on the way up.  About at mile 4.5 my right forefoot started getting pretty sore, so I slowed down a little bit for the rest of the run.  7:32/mile AP.

18.2 miles.  Went up and down Smithfield Canyon with Joanna.  She was on her bike.  9.1 Miles with a 7:24/mile AP.  Afterwards, went up and down Smithfield Canyon again with Claire.  Went a bit slower as her legs weren't feeling that great.
