2 Miles following one hour of "strong" class at the gym. Arrived late, so I didn't get in any running before the class. I'm hoping to improve my general fitness with some lifting. First 1.5 at 8:30 pace, finished run with .5 mile at 6:00 pace.

On the picture, you look like you do not need much lifting at all if your goal is to be a good runner. Some strength maintenace would not hurt, but your arms look proportionally developed.

Thanks, I'm not trying to bulk up, just get more general fitness. I'm pretty much a weakling.

More importantly, I realize that I have to build and maintain a better aerobic base. I'm striving for better consistency.

Thanks for the comment on my blog. It is pretty cool that people can watch each others progress and training as it is such a great motivation tool.

How was the Grand Slam? Would you do it again? I am pretty sure that I will be doing it next year if I can stay healthy.

Keep up the miles! That is my focus lately as I feel I need to build a better base. By the way, a sub 3:30 is no "weakling" effort!
