1.25 hours yoga class.

20 minutes elliptical.

And for anyone who is interested, I did go ahead and sign up for the Utah Grand Slam once again.  I hope I can get my achilles worked out by next season.

How did the achilles feel after those 3 miles? Have you learned anything else about treatment options?

Nothing like doing the Slam to help the achilles get better. :)

Rhett,

My achilles didn't feel any worse today, but I've not pushed things, as you can see. The doctor I plan on seeing is in Afghanistan until January, so I have an evaluation scheduled for the 12th. It seems, however, that the platelet rich plasma treatment is not covered by insurance so I'll have to decide what to do after my consultation. It really would be great to be able to run and just worry about fatigue and not injury, a feeling you can most assuredly relate to.

Say hi to RAD for me. She signed up for the Grand Slam last night, too.

Well I guess I will keep my fingers crossed until the 12th!

That stinks that the insurance won't cover it. LAME!!!

Okay ... I bet we could draw some of your blood ourselves, spin it in a simple salad spinner (you'd have to do the spinning, because we would need it to be fast enough to separate the blood into its components), and then inject the platelets into your achilles ourselves!!! How could it not work???!!! :) :) :)

Seriously ... dang! I bet it is quite a costly procedure. Seems like everything is!!

Oh yeah ... nice miles, elliptical and yoga!!! :) :) :)

YAY for Slamming it again in 2011! I am sure your achilles will be healed up in time for a new training season.

That platelet rich plasma treatment sounds promising. Is Teena going into Phlebotomy school too? I know how much she loves to inflict pain! :)

Ambitious...

Those poor girls. I bet they live in a concentration camp and are forced to jump rope all day long.

I hope you're having a good weekend Paul. So are you taking a few grand for this treatment? Any ideas on the success rate with it?
