-Survived Speedgoat 50K 2013 (Time 9:59:51)

Attempting to complete half ironman triathlon.  I've done a decent amount of running but not much else for a while.

Stay healthy and happy.

ran the local trail again. it was nice I can't wait for it to cool down a little bit here so I feel comfortable back out on the trails. The ball of my foot hurt today. I am not sure why that is maybe I need to let it recover some more. It only really hurts wehn I run trails. It might be the shoes. I may try running the trail in a different pair. Anyone have any thoughts?

I always have problems with the ball of my foot when I run in Brooks shoes. I went through a few different types of trail running shoe before I found some that worked for me. Shoes are a very personal thing I think. One size does not fit all. You may need to just keep trying different types until you find what works for you.

That said, trail running will definitely make the ball of your foot hurt more than road running. Maybe your feet aren't tough enough yet. Don't push it and try some different shoes and see if that helps. Maybe try your Merrel Trail Gloves too, just to see if it's your feet or the shoes your running in.
