Completed a dozen marathons and a handful of 50 mile ultras.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Consistent aerobic and strength training.

Christie Clinic Half Marathon 4/27/24

Long-Term Running Goals:

Sub 1:35 in half marathon.  Then might consider taking a shot at full marathon again.

Personal:

I started more dedicated running and racing in my thirties.  Eventually I developed symptomatic bradycardia and SVT which required a cardiac pacemaker implant and a cardiac cath ablation.  It has taken a long time to get back to running consistently again.  Counting my blessings and trying to remain more balanced with fitness.

Did a typical out and back on a bike trial.  Carried water and took down one gel at the half way turn.  I really enjoy getting out of the city and running in the prairie.  Nice and quiet with an occasional cyclist.  Easy 8-9 min pace throughout.  Kicking around the idea of doing an ultra.  Plenty of time to train these days.

Great long run!! How are you holding up...any news on the job search?

Thanks Jeff. Hey, I noticed you called again about a week ago. Sorry I didn't call you back. I'm doing fine, but getting use to the slow process of job hunting is hard. I keep telling the Mrs. that I can always go to manual labor if things get really tight. Thankfully, that's a ways off. I've been sending out resumes in more of a reactive type job search (whatever pops up I then apply). I'll get more proactive (calling people) next week. Just have to be patient in this economy. Thanks for checking in.
