Salt Lake Half Marathon

New course.  I liked the changes.  Probably not as fast as the old course but still aided with a couple of nice hills and of course the gentle uphill of South Temple.  The goal was simply to run sub 1:40.  I've come close a couple of times but never done it.

Finish time was 1:39:28.  A new PR.  The course measured .14 long eventhough I religiously ran the tangents especially through Memory Grove.  Started behind the 1:40 pacer and passed him just after crossing the timing mat.  Most proud that I ran with consistent effort for the entire race.  Didn't lay an egg around mile 8 or 9 like usual.  I didn't want to keep looking at my watch but they had timing clocks at every mile.  It made me do the math at each mile to keep on pace.  Best of all I kept the 1:40 pacer behind me and never saw or heard them.

7:28 / 7:48 / 6:56 / 7:13 / 7:02 / 7:47 (South Temple) / 7:33 / 8:01 (short hill) / 7:37 / 7:43 / 7:28 / 7:46 / 7:33 / 1:35 (7:13 pace for .24 miles).
