Felt a bit sluggish today, yet still wanted to get in a longer "tempo".  Started with 1-mile warm-up and then ran 5 miles through the hills to Morris in  35:53 (7:11 pace).  Mile 5 was mostly uphill and I began to sweat like a bear.  Took a two minute break and headed back through the hills into town in 36:20 (7:16 pace)...a bit tough with my squishy shoes- felt 5lbs each.  Legs were dead at the end, yet happy with the effort.

Weight:  180 lbs (Hope to be low 170's by mid-October)

Hope you had a good holiday, what a summer!! And you still have it.

We are getting closer, the 121 half was a real confidence booster for me, hopefully the increase in miles will be what I need. I thank you for that because I really think going from 50/week to almost 70/week has to make a difference.

I'm sure that the travel has an effect plus the weather is tough right now. Good run in those conditions.

Todd- I'm happy to have "maintained" a bit through a full month of world wide travel...yes, your additional mileage has paid off tremendously. Keep it up and I think you'll be surprised by you Fall marathon time.

Jim- I don't know how you can consistently pull of the kind of travelling you do while keeping up the running. I've gotten a taste of it this month...did ok, yet don't think I keep it up year round.

Sometimes I wonder if I am keeping up on the running while traveling. I definitely have my ups and downs. Would like to get up into the higher mileage like you have been doing. Maybe now that the kids are back in school....
