AM:  Ran with Ed this morning.  High teens w/a moderate breeze.  Temp's felt like 7 degrees.  Did the hilly route past Popi's and by the lake.  We kept a fairly good clip until about mile 8...Ed's leg began to stiffen.  We slowed down just a tad, yet kept a descent pace until the end of our route.  Overall, 12.5 miles in 1:36:06 (7:41 pace).  Plan a few more miles after lunch...

PM:  Home with the kids.  Once our youngest was down for a nap, went to the basement for a TM workout...

1-mile warm-up:  8 min pace

4-mile run w/hills:  6:48 pace with 4 x .4 mile hills (1%, 2%, 3%, 4%)

2-mile cooldown:  Still felt strong at the finish

Plan to cut miles back a bit in the upcoming week- maybe 60 or so.  The mileage is feeling comfortable, yet I want to regroup with an "easy week" before my next slight increase in mileage.

Love the way we feed on each other. You really made me think when you mentioned about how close we are to tapering, wow, exciting.

A nice week of running for you!

I too am going to cut back next week as my last 3 weeks have been pretty high and I am feeling tired. A week off then hit March hard!

From rockness18 on Sat, Feb 21, 2009 at 21:02:06

That is exactly my mindset as well...hit March hard! Praying for the sun to shine and our track to clear. I wish you continued progress in your training...maybe mix in a little AC/DC and old Van Halen with your Def L. collection.

Again impressive day. God's going to bless your hard work in Boston. Did you hear that Ryan Hall is going to run Boston.

Kory,

Thanks! I did hear that Ryan Hall will be running. Very exciting! I admire his faith.

Keep my diet in your prayers. It's easy for me to give 110% physically, but then I find myself just absolutely starved. My weight's gotten as low as 175lbs and then I eat my way back up to 180. Maybe I shouldn't worry all that much (this is the lowest I've weighed since age 15), yet I'd love to be a bit lighter for Boston.

I will keep you in my prayers. Have you tried eating 5 small meals a day? This helps keep your metabolism going and exactly burn fat to keep your weight down.

God bless you and I will keep you in my prayers. You've really helped me and I will do so in return.

I've still got issues with my stomach that I'm praying about as well so I'll remember you too.
