Well folks I'm at a very sad place! I have a cast on  my foot and I have a stress fracture as I thought, I'm pretty down but not out, theres really nothing I can do other than just roll with it and see how it turns out... My brother-in-law wants to keep it on for 10 days and then take another ex-ray to see were I'm at, but I know I'm out for 6 weeks at least so just grin and bare it! I won't be posting much but I will be checking in on everyone else just to see how you are all doing. I think the most disappointing part is I won't be able to run the 5K this weekend with Ethan, his first, he has been working his butt off and its a bitter pill to swallow. Well,  I guess in six weeks I get to start all over again! Running can be a brutal sport, unfair at times and down right disappointing, alot like life!  So I guess the big guy upstairs is trying to teach me patience, so far its not working;(

Later!

Clay I'm so sorry to hear about this. Dang!!! But I can say I think I know exactly how you feel since my recent injury although different, involved about the same amount of downtime. Hopefully you can still golf and fish and take this time to do more of both!! Maybe you can be coach Dad as well for Ethan. Good luck man!

I'm so sorry. You have had more than your fair share of injuries. At least you have proper perspective. Good luck with the healing.

Thanks Tom. These things happen sometimes and theres really nothing you can do about it, training is a crap shoot at best... I'll be back at it next month and slowly build things back up over the winter, I think its time to get on a good multi-vitamin and try that and see if it will cut down on the set backs. It was just frustrating cuz I had battled through a few injuries and was finally feeling really good and then this happens which had nothing to do with the other injuries. Oh well, day by day is about all I can handle right now. Good luck out there and keep pushing forward, your doing great!

Clay, hand in there, can you cross train with the cast, keep up the cardio, you could still run STG if the foot allows, you could run at a snails pace with me, just get er done.

Stay Kool, B of BS Rools out

I can't do anything, I wish I could but it's not good. My doc says 6 weeks which included 2 weeks hard cast and two weeks soft cast with a boot, bare minimum. I look like Tiny Tim with one crutch, all I'm missing is the scarf and the top hat:)

Sorry to hear you are down for a bit Clay! Hang in there! I watched Tom go through that just a few months ago and I know it's hard but it is possible. Enjoy the extra time it gives you for other things and then back at it as soon as things are mended! Sending good and happy vibes your way!
